5480 Wounds of Christ Devotion

Welcome to the third meditation of the 5480 Wounds devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Today we invite you to contemplate Caiaphas’s servants’ slaps across the veiled Holy Face of Jesus to mock Him. Prayer: O Jesus! Creator of Heaven and earth Whom nothing can encompass or limit, Thou Who dost enfold and hold all under Thy Loving power, remember the very bitter pain Thou didst suffer when the Jews nailed Thy Sacred Hands and Feet to the Cross by blow after blow with big blunt nails, and not finding Thee in a pitiable enough state to satisfy their rage, they enlarged Thy Wounds, and added pain to pain, and with indescribable cruelty stretched Thy Body on the Cross, pulled Thee from all sides, thus dislocating Thy Limbs. I beg of Thee, O Jesus, by the memory of this most Loving suffering of the Cross, to grant me the grace to fear Thee and to Love Thee. Amen.

About Podcast

The love of God is something we often hear about but rarely take to heart. It’s difficult to comprehend the depth of love Jesus has for each of us. Led by Catholic evangelist Ali Hoffman, we seek to greater understand this great love through the 5480 wound of Christ devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Twice a week we will be meditating upon various wounds Christ sustained throughout His way to calvary. His love for us is quite literally written into his body in each of these wounds. May we draw near to them so that our wounds may be redeemed with his this Easter.

Join us starting on February 14, Ash Wednesday.
