The Scourging at the Pillar

5480 Wounds of Christ Devotion

Welcome to the fourth meditation of the 5480 Wounds devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Today we invite you to contemplate the Scourging at the Pillar. Prayer: O Jesus! Heavenly Physician, raised aloft on the Cross to heal our wounds with Thine, remember the bruises which Thou didst suffer and the weakness of all Thy Members which were distended to such a degree that never was their pain like unto Thine. From the crown of Thy Head to the Soles of Thy Feet there was not one spot on Thy Body that was not in torment, and yet, forgetting all Thy sufferings, Thou didst not cease to pray to Thy heavenly Father for Thy enemies, saying “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Through this great Mercy, and in memory of this suffering, grant that the remembrance of Thy Most Bitter Passion may effect in us a perfect contrition and the remission of all our sins. Amen.

About Podcast

The love of God is something we often hear about but rarely take to heart. It’s difficult to comprehend the depth of love Jesus has for each of us. Led by Catholic evangelist Ali Hoffman, we seek to greater understand this great love through the 5480 wound of Christ devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Twice a week we will be meditating upon various wounds Christ sustained throughout His way to calvary. His love for us is quite literally written into his body in each of these wounds. May we draw near to them so that our wounds may be redeemed with his this Easter.

Join us starting on February 14, Ash Wednesday.
