Welcome to the eighth meditation of the 5480 Wounds devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Today we invite you to contemplate the wounds sustained by Jesus on His elbows and knees at His first fall while carrying the Cross. Prayer O Jesus! Sweetness of hearts, delight of the spirit, by the bitterness of the vinegar and gall which Thou didst taste on the Cross for Love of us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Thy Precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that they may serve as a remedy and consolation for our souls. Amen.

The love of God is something we often hear about but rarely take to heart. It’s difficult to comprehend the depth of love Jesus has for each of us. Led by Catholic evangelist Ali Hoffman, we seek to greater understand this great love through the 5480 wound of Christ devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Twice a week we will be meditating upon various wounds Christ sustained throughout His way to calvary. His love for us is quite literally written into his body in each of these wounds. May we draw near to them so that our wounds may be redeemed with his this Easter.
