The Crowning with Thorns

5480 Wounds of Christ Devotion

Welcome to the fifth meditation of the 5480 Wounds devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Today we invite you to contemplate the Crowning with Thorns. Prayer: O Jesus! Mirror of eternal splendor, remember the sadness which Thou experienced, when contemplating in the light of Thy Divinity the predestination of those who would be saved by the merits of Thy Sacred passion, Thou didst see at the same time, the great multitude of reprobates who would be damned for their sins, and Thou didst complain bitterly of those hopeless lost and unfortunate sinners. Through this abyss of compassion and pity, and especially through the goodness which Thou displayed to the good thief when Thou sadist to him: “This day, thou shalt be with Me in paradise.” I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, that at the hour of my death, Thou wilt show me mercy. Amen.

About Podcast

The love of God is something we often hear about but rarely take to heart. It’s difficult to comprehend the depth of love Jesus has for each of us. Led by Catholic evangelist Ali Hoffman, we seek to greater understand this great love through the 5480 wound of Christ devotion of St. Bridget of Sweden. Twice a week we will be meditating upon various wounds Christ sustained throughout His way to calvary. His love for us is quite literally written into his body in each of these wounds. May we draw near to them so that our wounds may be redeemed with his this Easter.

Join us starting on February 14, Ash Wednesday.
