#1130 Can Catholics be Zionists? - Trent Horn

Counsel of Trent

In this episode, Trent Horn breaks down the recent Catholic controversy over “Zionism,” anti-Zionism, and antisemitism—sparked by comments from Carrie Prejean and discussion involving Ted Cruz. Trent defines Zionism carefully, explains what Catholics can and cannot affirm, and distinguishes political support for Israel’s existence from “theological Zionism” that treats the modern state as biblical prophecy. He also addresses Catholic teaching on the Church as the “New Israel,” the Church’s rejection of antisemitism, and how Catholics can prudentially evaluate policies, war claims, and proposed solutions while keeping their first allegiance to Christ and His Church.
