A Catholic CEO’s Dark Night of the Soul | Dave Durand
Eleven Talents | Legatus Podcast
Before his life fell apart, Dave Durand experienced a moment of God’s love so profound that he says he would have wanted it to last forever. He has rarely spoken about it—until now. Dave built and sold companies, including Best Version Media, which he says reaches roughly 30 million readers through 1,300 publications. But behind that success, he faced divorce, financial loss, grief, and a painful struggle to pray. In this conversation with Stephen Henley, Dave shares what those years taught him about leading people, holding on to faith when prayer feels empty, and letting go of the appearance of a perfect life. He explains how St. Teresa of Ávila helped him discover the interior life, why he had been living more like Martha than Mary, and what it means to pursue holiness through God’s grace. Dave also discusses the documentary in development about Legatus founder Tom Monaghan.
