Heroic Lives | EP 02 - Saint Augustine of Hippo
Heroic Lives | Shalom World
In this episode of Heroic Lives, we explore the life and legacy of Saint Augustine of Hippo, a towering figure in Christian theology. Born on November 13, 354, in Tagaste, Augustine’s journey from a young seeker of worldly pleasures to a theologian is marked by his conversion to Christianity, inspired by the teachings of Bishop Ambrose. His seminal works, including Confessions and The City of God, address fundamental concepts like original sin, grace, and the nature of the Trinity, shaping much of Christian thought. Augustine’s defenses against various heresies and his teachings on sacraments and baptism have left a lasting impact on the Church, demonstrating the power of divine grace in guiding one’s life and faith.
