Ep 18 - Diving into the Church Documents: “On Sacred Music” by Pope St. Pius X, Part II: The Different Kinds of Sacred Music

Liturgy Resources Podcast

Fr. Kyle and Steven talk about the third and fourth paragraphs of Pope Pius X’s document “On Sacred Music.” We wade through how we understand chant as the ‘supreme model’ as sacred music. And then talk about chant can aid in the active participation in the liturgy. Finally, they talk about sacred polyphony. If anything, listen for a good laugh. https://adoremus.org/1903/11/tra-le-sollecitudini/ Learn more and purchase resources for your parish and music ministry at www.liturgyresources.com.
