American Pope by NPR's Daniel Burke & Scott Detrow
More McGrady with Katie
After covering the 2025 conclave for NPR, Daniel Burke and Scott Detrow set out to write a well-researched, deeply sourced biography of the newly elected Pope from America. With never before revealed details about his ancestral heritage, new interviews with friends, classmates, students, and fellow Augustinian friars, and with unique insights into how the 2025 conclave unfolded among the Cardinal electors, Burke and Detrow paint a sweeping portrait of "Fr. Bob from the Southside," now known as Leo XIV.
