Radio Maria UK
This week on Culture Tuesday, Helena Judd is joined by a special guest, Stephanie Pena, for a deep dive into Truth & Treason, Angel Studios' latest release. About the film: Based on the true story of Helmuth Hübener, a teenage resistance fighter who opposed the Nazi regime in Germany during WWII, Truth & Treason is a gripping historical drama directed by Matt Whitaker. When loyalty to countrybecomes loyalty to a lie, one teen risks everything to expose the truth — with the Gestapo closing in, he must decide what it really means to be a good German. Helmuth formed a resistance group with his friends Karl and Rudi afterwitnessing the arrest of his Jewish friends by the Nazis, and their brave actions led them to face trial in Nazi Germany. Helena and Stephanie share their reactions to this powerful true story, discussing its emotional impact, standout performances and what makes it one of Angel's most compelling films yet. Whether you've already seen it or are deciding whether it belongs on your watchlist, this is the conversation to tune in to.
