AFTERNOONS WITH RADIO MARIA - Dr Krish Kandiah OBE - What does it mean to truly welcome the stranger?
Radio Maria UK
In this programme, we speak with Dr Krish Kandiah OBE about his powerful new book, God is Stranger—and a life spent answering that question in action. Dr Kandiah is the founder of The Sanctuary Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping refugees find welcome, work and stable housing across the UK. For decades, he's been at the frontline of refugee resettlement, child welfare reform and civil society mobilisation. He's mobilised churches and community groups to respond to crisis arrivals from Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Gaza and Sudan. He's advised government on how we care for vulnerable children. He's trained thousands to love well. His work is grounded in a single conviction: that we are called to see Christ in the stranger. That welcome isn't sentiment. It's action. It's transformation. In this episode, Dr Kandiah shares what happens when faith communities actually answer that call—and what his book God is Stranger reveals about who we are called to become.
