CULTURE TUESDAY - Bell and the Joyful Mysteries
Radio Maria UK
What happens when a ten-year-old is sent to Rome for the summer and expects to be miserable? On this week's Culture Tuesday, our young volunteer Maria joins Helena to talk with author and poet Sally Read about her latest book, Bell and the Joyful Mysteries, illustrated by Doris Shermadhi. In the story, Bell is packed off to her grandmother's in Rome. There, "Nonna" teaches her to pray the Rosary by taking her into the mysteries themselves and introducing her to Mary. By the end of the summer, Bell is transformed. This beautifully illustrated chapter book brings the Joyful Mysteries to life and invites young readers to love Jesus, Our Lady and the Rosary. Hear Sally on the inspiration behind the book, and hear Maria's thoughts as a young reader herself. Please consider supporting us with a one-off or monthly donation. It is only through the generosity of our listeners that we are able to be a Christian voice by your side. https://radiomaria.uk/donations/
