Culture Tuesday - Film Review of Glenrothan
Radio Maria UK
This week on Culture Tuesday, Stephanie Peña and Helena Judd review Glenrothan, the directorial debut of Brian Cox set in the Scottish Highlands. The film follows two estranged brothers reunited after 40 years apart at their family whisky distillery, exploring themes of family conflict, regret and the long journey towards forgiveness. With echoes of the prodigal son, the story unfolds through grief, memory and the possibility of reconciliation. Stephanie and Helena reflect on the powerful performances, the emotional depth of the characters and the role of those around them who help open the path to healing. Set against the stunning landscape of Scotland, Glenrothan is both a visual tribute to place and a moving story of brokenness and hope.
