Rise Right
May 11th, 2026 - Happy feast of St. Gangolf of Burgundy! President Donald Trump said yesterday he plans to reject Iran's response to the latest U.S.-backed peace proposal, after waiting 10 days for the country to reply. Trump told Axios, "I don't like their letter. It's inappropriate," and later called it "TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!" in a Truth Social post. President Trump also expressed hope for an end in sight for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, after this weekend saw a three-day ceasefire between the two countries. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told 60 Minutes this weekend that he has told the Trump administration that he plans to end American military aid to Israel and wishes for the process to begin now. More than 100 lawmakers across both major parties have sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to demand Chinese leader Xi Jinping release Hong Kong media tycoon and Catholic Jimmy Lai. On Mother’s Day, the Trump Administration released a new website to help pregnant mothers find pregnancy care centers. Passengers from the Hantavirus-stricken cruise ship have now disembarked and returned to their home countries. One French passenger and one from the US tested positive after being evacuated from the vessel in the Canary Islands.
