Their Church Flooded — So They're Taking the Faith to Campus – Fr. PJ McManus, Megan Schultz & Tyler Dillon – 08/06/2026

The Catholic Morning Show

Three weeks before students return to Drake University, a sprinkler failure deluged St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Student Center Parish — and the team running campus ministry there is calling it an opportunity rather than a setback. Fr. PJ McManus, the parish's new pastor and the Diocese of Des Moines' Vicar of Evangelization and Mission, joins Megan Schultz and FOCUS team director Tyler Dillon to explain how Mass, Bible studies and community life are moving onto Drake's campus this fall. They talk about what college students actually want from the Church, why surface-level friendship leaves young people lonely, and how a flooded building might be exactly what pushes a parish outward.
