The Catholic Morning Show
On this episode of The Catholic Morning Show, hosts Bo Bonner, Alexia Baker, Ayden Pugh, and Brady Grimm explore two recent ordination stories from across Iowa's Catholic dioceses. Deacon Joel Rogers reflects on his June 27 ordination to the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, describing the powerful symbolism of the ordination liturgy and the threefold diaconal call to word, sacrament, and charity. Then, Catholic Messenger editor Dan Russo shares the remarkable story of Father Alfonso Pizano's ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Davenport — a winding journey from Disneyland to the seminary that took him from California to Wisconsin and back to Iowa.
