Daily Gospel Reflections and Parish Life with a Young Pastor — Fr. Nick Smith

The Catholic Morning Show

Fr. Nick Smith, pastor of St. Patrick's Parish in Perry, Iowa, joins The Catholic Morning Show to discuss his daily Gospel reflection podcast — ranked #2 for "Gospel Reflections" on Apple Podcasts — and what it means to lead a 150-year-old parish as a young priest. Fr. Nick shares his journey from Dowling Catholic High School through seminary, parochial vicar roles in Ankeny and Des Moines, and into his first pastorate in Perry. He reflects on deepening Eucharistic devotion, the parish's growing Hispanic community, and the spiritual fruits of putting the sacraments first.
