How the Blessed Mother Teaches Us to Evangelize – John Gaffney – 08/12/2026

The Catholic Morning Show

John Gaffney, Director of Evangelization and Mission for the Diocese of Des Moines, joins Bo Bonner for his monthly conversation on evangelization, this time exploring how the Blessed Virgin Mary models it for every Catholic. Gaffney traces three moments in Mary's life — the Annunciation, the Visitation, and her enduring presence from Cana to Calvary to Pentecost — to show that evangelization begins with receiving Christ and grows through patient, faithful accompaniment rather than argument. The conversation takes a personal turn as Gaffney reflects on grief and accompaniment following the recent death of his sister-in-law.
