Antonio Banuelos: Our Lady of Guadalupe's Pilgrim Statue Visits Des Moines (+ more) | The Catholic Morning Show - 07/28/2026

The Catholic Morning Show

Bo Bonner and Alexia Baker welcome Antonio Banuelos of the Diocese of Des Moines to explain why the life-sized Pilgrim Mother statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe is touring Saint Ambrose Cathedral and parishes across central Iowa ahead of the 500th anniversary of her 1531 apparition to Saint Juan Diego. The show also honors the feast of Blessed Stanley Rother, the first American-born martyr, tying his Oklahoma shrine and a new theatrical documentary to this week's Guadalupe pilgrimage. Plus, First Encounter Band members Emily Schmidt and Andy Baumert preview their praise and worship set at the Iowa Cubs' Faith and Family Day on August 2.
