From Ruin to Revival: The Men Rebuilding St. Anne Shrine
The Everyday Saint
The St. Anne Shrine was one of the most well known and renowned Shrines on the East Coast. However, after years of this historic building remaining as a sacred safe haven, the restorations and financial capabilities took their toll, resulting in the Shrine being shut down. In its day, the St. Anne Shrine was visited by both a Saint and a President. Now, the Church has closed its doors. This group of men, once parishioners in their youth, couldn't stand to see their beloved parish close. In a remarkable case, laymen are rebuilding the Church. Hear from this group of men working to rebuild the St. Anne Shrine and restore it in all it's glory! They share what they've done, what they hope to accomplish, the history of the shrine, and also what we can do to ensure this doesn't happen to our favorite sacred spaces. Thanks for listening!
