Episode 7 - Joshua Mitchell
The Front Line with Joe & Joe
April 25, 2021 - Joe & Joe speak with Joshua Mitchell about his book: American Awakening: Identity Politics and Other Afflictions of Our Time. Joshua Mitchell, professor at Georgetown University, explains that America has always been committed to the idea that citizens can work together to build a common world. Today, three afflictions keep us from pursuing that noble ideal: 1) identity politics, 2) peoples’ oscillation between feeling invincible and feeling impotent, and 3) an addiction to finding shortcuts in life.
