Boniface Luykx’s Critique of the Novus Ordo as Defective Ritual (Part 1 of 2)

Tradition and Sanity

Boniface Luykx was an influential member of the preconciliar Liturgical Movement, a world-renowned scholar, a contributor to the preparatory phase of Vatican II, an expert at all four sessions of the Council, and a member of Bugnini’s Consilium, the group that constructed the new rite. So, he’s a man whose opinion is utterly worth taking seriously. And in his theological memoir, "A Wider View of Vatican II," finished in the 1990s but just published by Angelico Press, Fr. Luykx expresses some of the fiercest criticisms of the reform that I’ve ever seen in print (and that’s saying a lot). Wait till you see it (or hear it) yourself. This is a public episode.
