The Bible & Shopping
What a Gift Podcast
Jule and Sarra, in this episode, are unwrapping tow very distinct gifts: the Bible and Shopping. They start by opening up the gift of the Bible. Scripture can feel intimidating at first, but the gals talk about how to make it all feel less intimidating, and how it can go from being a collection of stories to something deeply personal. We also get to hear them share some very personal moments of encountering God through Scripture. After that, Jule and Sarra go shopping! They talk about why browsing the mall can sometimes be the perfect way to zone out, shopping for gifts for the people we love, and the strange art of finding clothes that actually work. Along the way: a competitive croquet invitational, building the dream team at work, Target dressing rooms, and the first second-generation Gifty. Grab your Bible, head to the mall, and come unwrap a couple of the very different gifts that make life a little more meaningful, and a lot more fun.
About Podcast
We’re not, by nature, the kind of people who look at life’s chaos and chirp, “What a gift!” But maybe we should be. So we’re practicing — one conversation at a time — laughing (and sometimes complaining) our way through the little treats, let-downs, and weird in-between moments that make up life, slowly figuring out how to mean it when we say, “What a gift.”
